Virgin Galactic, founded in 2004 by Richard Branson, is a British-American spaceflight company within the Virgin Group. It is developing commercial spacecraft and aims to provide suborbital spaceflights to space tourists. Virgin Galactic's spacecraft are launched from a carrier aircraft named WhiteKnightTwo. The company’s spaceplane, SpaceShipTwo, is designed to carry up to six passengers and two pilots. In July 2021, Virgin Galactic successfully completed its first fully crewed spaceflight, with founder Richard Branson among the crew, marking a significant milestone in commercial space tourism.
